I have never done a health retreat before and I had my doubts, but was I mistaken!
With the amazingly stunning 10/10 venue, the retreat, the organisation of it all and the food was just out of this world! Once we arrived at the hotel everything was taken care of.
Henlu and his team of people were friendly, organised and very professional. What made it different and great was the fact that they offer so many activities. One day we even went on a day excursion to Ithaca Island for sightseeing, had a lovely healthy lunch there and walked around the local villages. The training, the hikes and the fitness activities were very well planned and as a few of us were on different fitness levels everyone worked hard and got taken care of. The Elemis Spa is amazing!
I felt absolutely great after the week and learnt so much about health and fitness and as a result I have quit smoking after 8 years!

Greece is beautiful, no doubt, the setting of the hotel over the sea like that, the hiking and training with Mike, the best massage I have ever had. However, what made this past week the holiday it was, is your attention to detail and wonderful, tasty, healthy, visually delightful meals, cooked just for me.

The pure luxury of the hotel, with so many possibilties for exercising, the team looking after us, and the food, have been just amazing.
To be outside in the fresh sea air from the morning into the night, exercising, eating and relaxing is such a welcome change to our normal lives in London.

It was with some trepidation I booked my first healthy holiday. Well there was nothing to fear it was just what the doctor ordered and haven’t felt so well in a long time.
The week started off with a hike, and whilst trailing at the back, I didn’t feel out of place and the gap had narrowed by the end of the week.
A great balance of exercise, relaxation and all things healthy. Al’s food is amazing!
The days started off with either a hike or cycle to the beach for a swim, interspersed with pool and PT before cardio and chilled out yoga overlooking the sea ending the day perfectly. The hotel is stunningly situated and very comfortable and would be tempted to stay on a couple of nights at the end the next time.
I also made some lovely friends. So if you’re thinking twice – go!
I’ve had a brilliant week. Feel energised and refreshed. The hotel is phenomenal. Looking forward to coming back again.
I can wholeheartedly recommend a weeks holiday in Greece, organised and run by personal trainer, Henlu van der Westhuizen.
The holiday caters for all fitness levels and you are encouraged to do as much as you can but at your own pace/level. Some exercise classes are geared towards team training and others are one-on-one sessions with personal trainers Henlu and Jacqui.
Three hour hikes are on the agenda every other morning which is a great way to see something of this beautiful island, kick-started by a healthy but delicious breakfast. End your day with a wind-down yoga and stretching session.
The Emelisse Hotel is the perfect venue for the holiday. Haris and his family/team of staff are on hand to make sure everything goes smoothly and the hotel offers a very high standard of accommodation with great facilities.
A great way to kick-start new health resolutions.
As a trainer myself and a demanding full time job managing group exercise, this place was “Heaven” – it all began from being picked up at the airport and escorted to the magnificent hotel via the most breath taking views of the island….. stress had just left me!!!!
The organisation of hikes, treatments, kayaking, classes were amazing and just what my body and mind needed.
Not having to think of what to do eat, what to eat, where to go was all a luxury in itself. Food was provided morning, noon and night!!!!
The recipes and ingredients put my bland healthy cooking to shame. Full of delicious natural flavours and amazing dishes.
Truly recommend this to anyone who spends a lot of their time giving their to everyone and organising everyone – let it be done to you!

I have just returned from a health week in Kefalonia. This was its first time and it was very professionally run and I gained a lot from the experience, apart from weight!
The venue was perfect, to leave London and have that pure sea air and incredible scenery was very lucky.I loved the combination of PT, group exercise and yoga, perfect.
Also the variety of group training, excellent. Henlu you are a fantastic trainer, motivated, interested, interesting and caring. In general your energy carried us through even in the down moments.
Anyone less strong might have caved from time to time and given in to the moaning I am so pleased that you didn’t! Jacquie is also extremely fun to work with giving the right balance between friendly and professional.
My overall impression was excellent and I have come away from the week energised and motivated. Thank you and I will be back as a result!
I thoroughly enjoyed my recent week in Greece.
It was very well organised a good balance of hiking, biking, exercise and games with very very good food and some relaxation by the pool.
I particularly liked the yoga. Including massages and laundry was a lovely additional touch not usually included.
The hotel facilities were excellent as were all the staff.
So all in all a stand out week. I will be back for more!!!
In a beautiful location on the island of Kefalonia, Greece, I spent a professionally run week of hikes, physical training, kayaking and yoga accompanied by delicious yet nutritionally correct food.
The accommodation was luxurious, the hotel staff charming and courteous.
And the instructors were all efficient, friendly and solicitous.
Thank you for the fantastic week in Kafalonia. It was worth every drop of sweat.
Even when I was hanging on to dear life gripping the TRX in the corner of the tennis court, doing my squats diligently, Jono encouraging and Henlu pushing me, there were still the beautiful mountains to look at, and an even more beautiful plate of food waiting for me in a couple of hours.
So all I’m saying is HHH is THE holiday to do!

What an amazing week! I came back feeling totally energised and focused to improve my overall fitness.
The hotel is stunning and we were all cared for so well by Haris, his family and all the staff. The surrounding countryside is spectacular – a beautiful backdrop for the hikes, runs and bike rides.
Food was delicious and healthy.

I booked my retreat at a low point when I was struggling with exhaustion and feeling very unhappy in my circumstances. In three months, I had paused my entire fitness routine, over eaten, gained weight and even started to lose my hair and I felt the retreat would be a good way to escape and recharge.
The whole experience exceeded my expectations and as a lone traveller, I made new friends and enjoyed having every step of the way planned for me. The activities were varied with stunning views from hikes and bike rides, daily HIIT and yoga classes and I got some great coaching in a tennis lesson.
What really completes the experience is not only the expertise of the personal trainers who are credible, professional and supportive, but the food that is freshly prepared, clean and lean and actually gave me a new interest in how I fuel my body and how to eat for good health.
Since returning home, I have taken up yoga and joined a weekly class, attempted to recreate some of the meals and gotten back to a good level of fitness.
Thank you for helping me to feel like myself again, I have every intention to make a fitness retreat with HHH a regular part of my life.

The HHH Golf Retreat was very much a transformational experience for me.
Alan and his team are incredible, providing every aspect required to improve your golf game. It truly was a memorable experience, made very special by the amazing people. Graham at Active Q Fitness is an amazing fitness instructor and passed on exactly the right ongoing exercises to improve my game. 3 days at the Paul McGinley Golf Academy has saved me years of being in the wilderness of golf.
I am a once-a-week golfer and corporate player 6 times a year. I don’t want to practice 10 hours a week as I don’t have the time. Jose at the Golf Academy has made my game look like I am practicing 10 hours a week. His simple sequence through set up into swing just works so easily at giving me consistency with my swing. His short game processes and tips make so much sense, the way he explains it. I can actually improve week to week without practice and if I hit a bad shot I know exactly what I have done wrong and how to fix it.
Besides the fitness and golf the accommodation in Quinta Do Lago is nothing short of sensational, beautiful and relaxing. After a big day on the course, kick back and watch a movie in the theatre room, take a dip or laps in the pool, work on Graham’s fitness exercises in the gym or just relax and in the games room.
This is the first golf retreat I’ve attended and I now see it as the only golf retreat I’d attend again.

Last month I was invited on my first HHH retreat as a trainer. Despite being a trainer for 6 years I had never been part of a retreat before and was slightly anxious before starting.
However, from the moment we landed and I met some of the clients all my nerves were settled. The retreat was run absolutely exceptionally from start to finish, with help from other trainers Divan and Mel as well as yoga teacher Phoebe. The hikes and cycle rides were of mixed difficulty and accommodated people of all fitness levels.
Super chef Al, who prepared all the food on the retreat has a real gift in the kitchen. In all honesty I’m not sure I’ve ever tasted better food in my life.
I cant recommend the HHH retreat more highly and hope to take part on another one in the near future.
I had a wonderful time in Crete. Alan was the heart and soul of the operation. His food was outstanding, as were his efforts to make sure everyone felt welcome and looked after.
I really enjoyed yoga classes with Phoebe. She joined in all of the activities, becoming part of the group and taking the time to get to know all of us.
I also had a great experience with Divan. I think the highlight was him pushing me up the hill on my bike when I was seconds away from giving up. I also really appreciated that he took me on an extra run and gave me lots of advice about training and diet along the way.
Overall an all star crew!
